Library Assistant II – Youth Services (part-time)

Loutit District Library seeks an organized and energetic individual to work 30 hours per week in Youth Services. The position involves extensive work with the public, especially youth, in answering questions, recommending books, and assisting with the online catalog. The primary function of this job includes reference and reader’s advisory services, assisting with youth programs, collection development, and cataloging materials. This position includes weekends and evenings.  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, computer proficiency, and flexible schedule required. Public library experience and interest in working with upper elementary/pre-teens preferred. Hourly wage range for this position is $17.31-$20.39 per hour, commensurate with experience.
