Loutit District Library is pleased to partner with the NEA Big Read Lakeshore, an annual month-long community-wide reading program that takes place every November. Run by Hope College in collaboration with many partner organizations, the NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) designed to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book.

This year’s Big Read selection is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, and the Little Read selections are The Giver by Lois Lowry and Blackout by John Rocco.

In addition to programming in Grand Haven, we encourage you to attend events up and down the lakeshore that the Big Read is sponsoring. For an event calendar and more information, check the Big Read website here.
