Stop! Don’t throw it out or hide it in the attic where no one will ever see it! Help us preserve the unique history of our area and make it accessible to future generations. The Local History and Genealogy Department is currently seeking the following materials for the Tri-Cities Area (Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, and surrounding area):

  • Historical photographs and postcards
  • Historical documents, pamphlets, and other local ephemera
  • Family genealogies
  • Junior high and high school yearbooks
  • Church directories
  • City directories and phone books
  • Local history and genealogy books

If you’re interested in donating items to our collection, please bring them to our department for evaluation. We welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you and learn about their unique history! If we add the item(s) to our collection, we’ll ask you to fill out a brief form, give you a receipt for tax purposes, and send you a hearty thank-you letter! To be accepted, donations must comply with our Collection Development Policy and be free of mold and other contaminants.

In addition, please consider donating local realia (real objects) to the Tri-Cities Historical Museum.

Thank you for your consideration!
