As of June 28, 2010 changes regarding requesting items from other libraries will change throughout the Lakeland Library Cooperative. After June 28, 2010 you will not be able to request audiovisual items from other libraries. This includes audio books, DVDs, videos, and music CDs. Additionally, new books within six months of publication may not be requested from other libraries. You may place holds on audiovisual items and new books owned by Loutit District Library. You may also go to another library to check out these materials but they must be returned to that library. Additionally, effective March 15, if you check out an item from another library, you must return it to the same library. If you return the item to a library other than the library where it was checked out, the item will not be checked in until it reaches the owning library. You will remain responsible for the item while it is in transit and for any associated overdue fines if the item reaches the owning library after the due date. These changes are a result of continuing decreases in state aid to libraries. For more information, click here or call 616 842-5560, ext. 233. New Fiction at the Library this Month
