More than just books!

Below are other services offered at Loutit District Library.  Some services may include a small fee, where indicated.

COVID-19 Social Distancing Changes

At the moment, our Lower Level lounge, vending machines, and program rooms are not open to the public. We do anticipate reopening the Lower Level in the future but do not yet have a firm date. We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to offering you a safe, comfortable, and healthy place to relax again.

Currently, our computers are unavailable to the public, but we can deliver print requests to you via curbside pickup. If you need to print something, please e-mail loutitquickprint@gmail.com with the documents you need to print, along with your name and phone number. We will call you to schedule a time to pick up your print job. This service is currently offered free of charge, but you can make a donation to the library online if you would like to help offset our costs.

Public Computers and Printing

Public computers are available on the upper level in the Adult Wing. To use a computer, see a staff member at the Information Desk. Printing, including color printing, is available from any of the computers for 15 cents per page. For further information, see our Internet Access page.

Free Wi-Fi

We’re a Wi-Fi hotspot! Bring your laptop and enjoy our cozy fireplace or a summer breeze on our covered deck.

Exam Proctoring

Proctoring service is available for academic exams. This service is free for LDL card holders. Others will be charged $10 per exam. A request form, along with the Exam Proctoring Policy, is available here. For more information, see a librarian at the Information Desk.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available on a first come, first served basis, and close 15 minutes before the library does. Register at the Information Desk to use a room.

Computer Classroom

For a nominal fee, non-profit cultural, educational, civic, governmental groups, and business firms are welcome to use our Computer Classroom for computer training. More information can be found here.

T-Mobile Hotspots

Checking out a hotspot is easy! Present a valid library card at the Reference and Information Desk and get connectivity for a week! All startup instructions are included and technical assistance is available, but getting connected is so easy, we don’t think you’ll need our help.

Please be sure to return the hotspot by the due date to be courteous to others waiting to checkout and to avoid overdue fines of $1 per day. After three days overdue, the hotspot will no longer function. Hotspots must be returned to the Reference and Information Desk.

Enjoy the connectivity and expand your horizons! For assistance, call 616.850.6914 or email loutit@loutitlibrary.org.
