Internet Access at Loutit

To comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, access to the Internet is filtered.

All Internet users are required to abide by our Internet Policy.

Wi-Fi Access

Bring your wireless devices and get free wireless access throughout the library, and even into Central Park! Look for the network LDL – PUBLIC. Access is not restricted – you do not need a password or library card number to use our Wi-Fi.

Limitations and Security

Our Wi-Fi service is not secure. Use it at your own risk. The library is not responsible for the safety of equipment or data files resulting from connection to its wireless network. Review the library’s Internet Policy for details.

Public Computers

Located on the upper level, the public computers provide free access to the Internet, email, Microsoft Office 2021, and online research tools.

Computers are available for all ages. Computers specifically reserved for adults are located in the Adult Wing behind the Information Desk. Computers specifically reserved for youth and teens are located in the Youth Wing and Teen Room respectively.

Sit down at an available computer, enter your library card number located below the barcode on your card and click ‘Begin Session’. A screen will pop up where our Internet Policy is shown, and you will click ‘Accept’ after reading the policy to begin your session.

Time Limits

To help ensure access for everyone, there is a limit one two-hour session per day per person. Sessions may be extended at the discretion of  library staff.

Bringing files and saving work

You may use your own USB drives to transport and save files with our computers. After each session the computer is cleared of all downloads, logins, and new files.

Printing

You can print your saved files from a computer in the Public Computing Area or by using LDL’s mobile print service. Printing is free for the first 20 pages with a suggested donation of $0.15 cents per additional page.
