Schedule a curbside pickup or request an after hours hold pickup.

Curbside Pickup

Curbside pickup is available by appointment during our open hours:

Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The process is as easy as 1-2-3.

  • Step 1. Select your items: Request materials using our online catalog. If you are unable to use the catalog, please call the library at 616.850.6914. Staff will put your requested items on hold for you. You may place up to 50 holds on your library card. Although an item may be listed as available or ON SHELF in the library catalog, it does take staff some time to retrieve the items and change their status to ON HOLDSHELF. We will move quickly, but please wait for a notification that your hold is ready before scheduling your pickup. If you’ve signed up for email notification, you’ll receive an email. If you’ve signed up for text alerts through Shoutbomb, you’ll receive a text inviting you to schedule a pickup time. Otherwise we’ll call you.
  • Step 2: Schedule your pickup: Once you receive a notification that your items are ready, call 616.850.6910. If you are routed to voicemail, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. We will ask for your vehicle’s color, make, model and your desired pickup time. Alternatively, e-mail [email protected].
  • Step 3: Pickup your items: At your scheduled time, enter the enclosed parking garage from Fulton Street and park in any parking space closest to the door of the library. Please call the number listed on the signs (616.850.6910) to let us know you’ve arrived. Library staff will bring your materials to your car.

After Hours Holds Locker

If you are unable to pick up your hold during library service hours, our holds lockers accessible after hours may be right for you!

  • Step 2: Schedule your pickup: Once yoClick to schedule after hours holds pickupu receive a notification that your items are ready, call 616.850.6910 or fill out the form. Fill out the form completely with your library card number and your preferred contact method. Staff will put your items in a locker and let you know when your items are ready to be picked up. You have 72 hours from notification to retrieve them.
  • Step 3: Pickup your items: Enter the enclosed parking garage from Fulton Street by car or by Fourth Street on foot to access the After Hours Holds Locker. Scan your library card under the barcode reader, and your locker will pop open automatically. Retrieve your items and close the door. Enjoy your library materials!
