Library Assistant II – Reference & Information (Part-time)

Loutit District Library seeks an enthusiastic and energetic service-oriented individual to work 28 hours per week in the Reference & Information Department. The position involves extensive work with the public in answering questions, recommending books, and assisting with computers. The primary functions of this job include: reference and reader’s advisory services, assisting with programs, collection development, and offering technology assistance to patrons. This position includes evenings and weekends. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, computer proficiency, and flexible schedule are required. Public library experience preferred. Loutit District Library seeks an organized and energetic individual to work 28 hours per week in Youth Services. The position involves extensive work with the public, especially youth, in answering questions, recommending books, and assisting with the online catalog. The primary functions of this job include reference and reader’s advisory services, assisting with youth programs, collection development, and cataloging materials. This position includes weekends and evenings. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, computer proficiency, and flexible schedule required.
